Had to share this with you all…

Again normally an Exchange blog, but, the following e-mail went around my organisation today and it nearly made me fall off my chair:

Managing Stress – Training Course

10 December 2007

There are two half day training sessions being held on Monday, 10 December 2007.

Morning Session: 9.00am – 12.30pm

Afternoon Session: 1.30pm – 5.00pm

Venue
<Removed to protect the innocent>

The Aim
To provide delegates with the knowledge to proactively manage and minimise the effects of personal stress in their work.

Course Objectives

  • To understand what stress is
  • Have a good understanding of what causes personal stress
  • Identify stress in yourself and others
  • Reduce personal stress by using recognised tools and techniques
  • Produce a personal action plan for managing stress

This course is paid for by Health & Safety Unit, however, if you fail to attend without good reasons, a £50 penalty will be charged to your departmental/sectional budget. ‘Pressure of work’ will not constitute a good reason.

The bit that made me laugh was the last paragraph – let me get this straight, you run a course about STRESS, but, if you fail to attend due to work pressure (e.g. STRESS) then you get charged £50.

I love it!
